Son of a $*@&*!!! I finally took my performance side skirts in to have them painted today, and, thankfully, the guys at the shop realized the attachment points on one was a little different than the other before painting them. Well, it turns out BMW accidentally put one two-door E82 and one five-door E87 performance side skirt in the package, so one of the damn things won't fit. I bought them 8 months ago, so now they're NLA...

PS - you may not have even noticed though unless you looked closely and compared them to each other.

He said he could probably graft part of my old skirt to the E87 one to make it fit, but I don't think I want to go down that road. Turner is going to accept the return, so at least that's good. |

All is well ends well!
I f***ed up my right hand pretty bad 3 weeks ago and have been shifting and driving all with my left hand. The 1er hasn't been washed in a month but I am glad I heavily protected it with wax and sealant. Next time I am able to wash my car I can see how the protectants held up. To top it all off it has been sitting outside for a month!

Yeah, been there done that with left handed shifting. Only difference was the vehicle was a 1963 3/4 ton Ford w/o power steering and 4 spd (granny low). Lots of fun in the snow when the back end would break loose.

Finally got my Nelson paddle shifters in the mail. Next weekend should be a fun time. Installing my M3 wheels with the new paddles, blue IND Start/Stop button, and my android tablet headunit should be arriving today. I'm excited.
I usually hate aftermarket radios, especially ones with a huge screen, but after driving my parents C300, I NEED Apple car play in my life lol |

Checked and topped off the rear diff.
Found my scraping noise. The heatshielding that is between the exhaust and driveshaft was touching slightly. Long bar and just bent it out of the way a bit. Also looks like my exhaust is sitting pretty close, maybe pushing up on the heatshield during engine movement? It's also interesting that I've seen many posts about having to bend the subframe bracing for exhaust clearance. I have plenty in that regard. I don't doubt that all the ice/snow that the car seen this Winter has something to do with this. But at least I know what it is now, localizing a side from inside driving was about impossible. It's also worth noting that the rub may be due to a worn center support bearing. I have new along with guibo. I just don't have ambition to drop this ill-fitting exhaust quite yet. Still healing from my fuel pump debacle. |

Washed it TWICE.
Went for a drive up to Orlando. It's lovebug season here in Florida. Got plastered with bug guts going up. It was disgusting and the wipers make it worse. I couldn't see well so washed. Coming back not nearly as bad but had to wash again. They are acidic so not good for the paint. I need to wax both cars again... :-/.

Read her a bunch of supra reviews then had to break the news that she'll be replaced by one in a couple years.
Hilarious seeing so many people surprised by overwhelmingly positive reviews, I was never in doubt. |

Yeah, I'd bet after someone works out how to swap a manual gearbox into the Supra it'll be a good car

I don’t know, I’m not sure Mustangs are any cooler. Despite the awful sounding 4-cyl, I’d probably go 718 Cayman around that price point for a 2-seater, or, better yet, a certified preowned 981.

I'm a fan of the Supra, but it's really tragic that there's no manual. Also I feel like we're incredibly spoiled with the E82. I'm planning on keeping my 135i forever as a project, so I can't justify getting another small coupe, I-6 turbo with a DCT transmission.
That's why I think my next fun car will probably be a Cayman GTS in a few years |

It's a shame the car is so ugly. Seems like it could have been a great platform

Been working on blending the quarters. Forgot how much I don't miss doing major bodywork hoping I can get this into shape to where I want it in the next week or two. Still need to tweak fitment with the front end a little, replacing every panel almost at once is tough to make it all back to perfect. I think the hood is throwing me off a little. My vinyl comes in today so I might start wrapping stuff this weekend, we'll see. Ordered a Revozport rear diffuser as well
