Recommendation for brake pressure bleeder?
Hi all,
Enjoying my new to me 2013 128i M-sport 6MT with less than 2,000 miles!! Am thinking about buying a brake bleeder, instead of depending on friends, etc. Looking at either the Ares 70921 or the Schwaben. I know a lot of people have the Motive, but I like that these others have at least another opening to release the pressure, other than the pump. And at least in pictures, seem to be better built? Also, any of you chime in whether the aluminum master cylinder caps are worth the extra money? Thanks in advance! |

We use a Motive bleeder with aluminium cap at the dealer.

Thanks! Just by chance, came by this car through a friend of a friend. You sort of got it, but not quite. Sad story associated with the car, so owners had bad memories associated with the car, and didn't drive it much, and just wanted to sell I paid more than I normally would have for a used car, but figured it was worth the chance.

I used a schwaben, be careful with it as the cap is finicky and did leak at first took a few tries for it to seal well (say comments/reviews mentioning the same)

I'm another vote for Schwaben.
I flush my fluids yearly (Brake, Trans, Diff) and it's worked perfectly. The only problem I've come across is the gasket on the orange pressure release cap will not seat correct sometimes, bleeding pressure. Easy enough to hear the hissing. Just remove and reseat in the cap and it's fine. I've had no issues running multiple different fluids through the same machine. You just want to clean it well and never leave any fluid sitting in it. Should always be stored dry if multi use. Last edited by iminhell1; 05-18-2019 at 02:06 PM.. |

I've only used the motive and the only thing I did to relieve the pressure when I was done is unscrew the cap. There was no fluid in it (I just fill the resovor) so it works fine.
