Spark plug question!
Hi everyone,
I have a very simple question which you guys should be able to easily answer. The sparks plugs on my 1M were changed 1 year ago and I am currently in the process of checking the ignitor coils due to some mild idle issues and was just wondering if when I check the spark plugs I HAVE to change them every time when they are removed or can I put them straight back in and torque up (17lb/ft)? Reason why I ask is that someone told me there were crush washers on the Bosch plugs. Regards |

Many others should reply also but I believe you can remove and simply re-torque when you reinstall. Altho I never do it, many garages will reuse an oil pan crush washer.

I think it's fine to reinsert a spark plug but I would put a little anti-seeze on the threads before putting it back in due to the aluminum head. I'd also check the gap and close it down if it is not within spec.
