Boss lent me his E63 AMG for a few weeks while my headlights are out getting done. Fun car but goddamn this thing is heavy.

What's it like to drive compared with the vert? (I find you really feel the weight of our cars when you try to stop in a hurry) The wagon version of that car is probably what I'd replace my car with if I could, but due to the rarity in Australia, I've never had the pleasure of driving one. I imagine it's a lot more rewarding when you put your foot down in a straight line thanks to the torque and sound of the big V8, but feels like a boat around corners? Does it feel at all 'throwable'? does it seem to 'shrink around you' when you're driving sportily - or does it feel more like you're lofting around in a 7 series or X series? |

I love hearing about owners with high mileage b/c I'd like my car to last a long time. At the rate I've put on miles lately, the car will be pretty old before I hit 100K!

How does the JBL speaker play into the aerodynamics of the car?

Loose fit just to cure some excitement.
It's the tightest of fitments. I absolutely need to get a turbo blanket. The water outlet is going to be really close. And being it's Aluminum and I will abuse this thing, it may just melt. LOL And I think I'll pick up some longer studs for the manifold. Stock will work but longer would be nicer. |

Put the 1er away for the winter. It is sitting at my parent's house now, this weekend I will give it one final wash for the season and tuck it in for a long sleep. Always a sad time of the year.
GTI is back to full time duties.

It must be a real bummer for you guys in the northern hemisphere with the extreme summer/winter weather cycles. Having to use different tyres, oils, not driving your beautiful 1ers because of ice, 6ft of snow, plus whatever damage salt is doing to your cars. If it is any consolation, in my home town of Brisbane today it was mid 30's, windy as hell and covered in a blanket of smoke from the many bushfires burning in the SEQ/NE NSW area at the moment. If anyone out there thinks that leather seats are "luxurious", damn you to hell!
