Does anyone know of a site that will tell me the reasons for a manufacturer buyback/lemon title ? I'm looking at a used car that has a buyback branded title and the dealership can't (or won't) tell me anything about it. Carfax just says it has this branded title....are there any other services that can tell me why the original purchaser returned it to the dealer and lemon it ?

BTW, I think BMW dealers can pull the full service history, using that you should be able to figure out what issues the car has had. |

Try a different dealer, might have to sweet talk a service adviser a little. Maybe tell them you plan to bring the potentially new to you car in for all service work to this dealer etc. There's also been forum members on here or over on e90post that will run the records for people sometimes using VIN. |

The car isn't a BMW....I know, I know....I wanted a change. Cadillac ATS-V. I really wanted an M3, test drove the V8 and it was just uninspiring to me, the way the power comes in is so different from my N54 and I just didn't get excited about it. Then I started looking at the newer turbo M3's.....the prices are a sticking point. So I started looking around and saw the ATS-V. I've spent months on this, going back and forth between M3, C63, C450AMG, ATS-V, keeping the 135i....who knew car buying could be so challenging :-)

Waiting for final confirmation and offer letter but I'm told I'm 110% locked on this job I've been shooting for. Means lots of fun stuff happening to the 135i this year interior will be getting a full overhaul, some custom exterior stuff and I guess I have to really make the decision of whether I'm going to swap the engine or go big single. Thoughts welcome of course. I don't know if there'd be anything like blasting around with the top down listening to an S85...

Went on the Drive Florida 10 Coast to Coast Rally on Sunday. I definitely got bit by the rally bug after that.

I love my Performance Brakes on my 128i, but holy hell do they produce a lot of brake dust. My stock brakes basically produced none, so this has been an adjustment. Do you 135i guys clean your wheels between washes to keep the clean look?

So, it has been an expensive three weeks.
2008 E88, working well but with more than 70K seemed to be time to replace shocks. Went with Koni Actives and the ECS kit with the replacement stuff. Throw in a few other small things and $2000 gone. Window attachment to Top effectively gone, so schedule new one for week after Thanksgiving. But, Friday night after Thanksgiving, water pump goes and water temps reach 258. So, have to leave car in Dick's parking lot until carried to shop on Monday. With expansion tank, hoses, belts, etc, another $2000 gone. Then, back to top. Since I am able to keep top down much of the year, decided not to go with OEM version. Slightly different fabric, but still looks good. $1800 (but $600 less than OEM). But the real bummer is that top must stay up a week to ensure it stretches sufficiently. A lot of money out the window, but I really missed having that car. My truck is nice, but it is not a 135i. And this is the first spell of expense of any consequence in the 5 years I have had car. |

Some brake pads produce less dust than others, there's a few threads around here that might be good reads. |

Check out the Brake Pad Thread for some good options. I'm currently running EBC Redstuff and am very happy with the improvement in reducing dust while performing just as good as the stock pad. I can typically go a whole tank of gas now and the wheels will still look "clean". The dust is very light in color.

They grab well with less initial bite than stock pads - which I prefer as the stock bite is a little excessive for a street car. No noise either, even in winter. Can't recommend them enough!
