Not likely. I have 18x8.5's with 235/40/18's as my summer setup and it rubs on deep dips and full turns which will be almost completely taken care of once I get the fenders rolled springtime, but a 245 I think is just pushin it. My front wheel is 45 offset as well and without a spacer with 235 tires I was about 2mm from the strut which is quite a bit close, and so I put on a 3mm spacer which sets the edge of the tire right on the inside of the fender, perfect fitment just with some minor rubbing on harsh dips like i said which should be fixed with the rolling, but again, a 245 ud def need atleast a 3mm spacer from the strut which would rub least a bit more and probably still some with a rolling. Theres nothing wrong with a 235/265 setup, just go with that.

I can see it working.
I run a 17x8 et 40 up front with a 245/40 and I clear the inner strut easily. I do rub the inner fender on deep dips however. Proof: And this is the rub Last edited by BrokenVert; 12-23-2011 at 09:01 PM.. |

But 235/40 is taller than a 245/35 so are you sure you weren't rubbing due to the excess height? I would think with enough camber, a 245/35 would fit on the fronts assuming a low 40 offset. |

Even 1* of camber will help significantly with rubbing in this situation.

What did you end up going with?
I have the same wheels with 225/40/18 Advan Ad08s on the front. I have -2.5degrees of camber and it looks like there's a fair bit of clearance to the guards, not sure about the strut though. |

Depends on the offset of the rim, but with a camber kit you could run 245/35 hoosier r6's square. That is what Apex recommended for use with their wheels for a track setup. I've tried 255/35's up front and they rubbed a bit to much on the track even with neg camber. I suppose if you had the fenders rolled you could get away with it.
Also I noticed going to a 35 series up front I had to tighten up the settings on my shocks because there was to much rebound. It felt bouncy by comparison. |

Reviving this thread. I’m hoping to fit a square 245 setup on my apex wheels which are 18x8 et45 in front. Will be running Eibach lowering springs, m3 front control arms, and camber plates. Thoughts?

Thinking the same thing. Same wheels but 18x8.5, OE Sport Pkg. springs, Dinan camber plates, -1.5 camber. The feeling I'm getting from looking at a variety of posts is that the 245/35/18's square should work without rolling or spacers especially since I'm not lowered.

If that's the case I may end up going with my orig square Konig set idea I had. I'd rather 245 all around if it will fit correctly without the possibility of rubbing everytime I see a bump in the road.

And think about Dinan fixed camber plates. Not expensive, fixed so no fiddling around with them, great help w/understeer, in my case allows about -1.8 camber, though I use -1.5 and 0 front toe. Cheap, reliable, easier tire fitment, better handling. Also very even tire wear with this setup. And you're right - ability to rotate tires is great. I'm probably doubling the life of my PS4S's and they are not cheap. My car is also a street/daily driver, not a track car.

Yes I'm likely going with Dinan's fairly soon. May also pull on control arms but not sure yet. I'm kinda trying to do this in steps. Camber plates and wheels first. Then upper lower arms and sway bar.

Just curious..if and when I install the Dinan plates, obviously I'll need an alignment but not sure which shop i'd take it too as there really aren't any very performance oriented shops around here. If I took it to a reg shop, what would I ask them to do, just tell them I installed fixed camber plates and I need it aligned, or give them specifics??

Front camber is not adjustable, so whatever you end up with after installing the plates is final. Rear camber is adjustable and toe is adjustable front and rear. Any shop can do the alignment, it is not rocket science. |

245/35-R18 Flat fitment
Just tried this out today.
My first track day was a sudden stop, due to braking issues and a subsequent clutch blowout. I love my DWS06, but those UTQG 560 tires have no business anywhere near a track. The understeer issue on this car can be solved easily with just a bit more meat on the front. Enter flat fitment. Currently running 18x8 40 offset wheels, all around. Recommended tire sizes. Wanted to know if I could get away with: 245/35-R18 Continental ExtremeContact Sport on the front, UTQG 340 on some lightweight Enkei RPF1 8.5" wide wheels, also 40 offset. Here's a super easy test I did: Swapped my fronts (215/40R18) for my rears (245/40R18) Took a nice drive, hit some skirts, checked clearance with wheel locked both ways. BONE stock suspension. Confirmed fit, it's fairly tight, but it will fit. No rubbing or anything. Flat 245s are going on for track day, for 9Lb. reduction per corner! Hope this helps. |
