Battery coding and registration, INPA reading
Fellow BMW experts, I've installed new battery but confused with INPA reading after the process.
Did I messed up with something? But here is the story. My vehicle is 2012 BMW 128i. Bosch 49-850BAGM (92Ah, 850CCA, 160RC) battery which was installed in Feb 2017, died sooner than expected. I bought the battery itself at local Pep Boys store, then installed and coded by BMW service. I picked up Exile MX-H8/L5/49-EX (90Ah, 850CCA, 160RC) as I did not find any Bosch battery locally. Decided to install it myself this time. I followed excellent bNks334's post DIY: Register and Code a New Battery (comprehensive guide). Did Option 4 to code the battery first with NCSExper, then Option 3 to register it with Ediabas's Tool32. Before coding process, INPA showed "Battery capacity in Ah" as 90.00, I thought 92Ah is not an option here. INPA steps: F2 "1 Series (E82, E87, E88)" --> "Engine N52(MSV70)" --> F5 "Status" --> F5 "PM IBS" --> F3 "PM field 2". Then in NCSExper, "KLASSE_BATTERIE" was set to "90ah" and not "90ah_agm", not sure why as Bosch battery was AGM type. I changed this parameter to "90ah_agm" as Exile is AGM too. It was coded successfully - I can see it's applied when I run "CODIERDATEN_LESEN" job to read data couple times. But after the coding, INPA shows now "Battery capacity in Ah" as 91.00. Why? Other than that, no errors found in any block. So is it me being paranoid? Thank you. |
