So the best part of the day was the "drive swaps". I think everyone drove at least two other peoples' cars which was pretty awesome.
We got to sample (or get a reminder of) stock brakes, Brembo Carbon ceramics (WOW) and Stoptech trophy. We got to hear full Akrapovic evolution (stock down pipes), Akra slip on with MadDad or with CPE midpipes and high flow catted DP's (not sure about brand) and MadDad with Ti Lightweight slip on. We had a twin plate clutch and an F10 550i clutch. We had an Ultimate Cutch Pedal, which may be my next mod….damn that was good. Everyone had M Performance seats or equivalent Recaro's except me….that is also now on the mod list if I can find the cash. There was not a stock unmodded car present…. The only person I didn't swap drives with was @seis-speed. Despite our wives hitting it off, I think all of our children ran short on patience. Did I miss anything?

Looks awesome! You just started my work day off with a smile.
My car is stock. I still have the original charge pipe (fingers crossed). |

Another observation I was able to make this morning when taking a look at the trip odometer for both of my cars…..
1M: 323 miles driven mostly by me and some by my son, plus about 10 miles of rips up and down the highway near Mt Bachelor by stormchaser7 and MechE which probably used a little extra gas…just a little. 😂 25mpg average! M2Cs: 313 miles driven by wife and my son in efficient mode, plus perhaps 4-5 miles by me demonstrating some stuff for MechE. 24.2mpg average. Verdict: the N54 gives more fun with less gas than the S55 with DCT. It would be interesting to know which one is more thirsty in truly spirited driving. The trip home will be pretty sedate with identical distance and speed, so I'll see how they compare headed that way.

Had a blast meeting all of you. Next time we will have to plan some more group events throughout the weekend. Dinner with John and Lunch with Mike was great! Can't wait for the next one! [IMG][/IMG]

Great pics stormchaser7 we had the right person in charge of the pics.
After a day of driving others cars, then having time to reflect, you kind of know what mods you want to look at doing or what you might not need to do. I was able to rip a mountain road after the event - I am really happy with my seats, height / position etc, my noise level is good, but there are some mods that I want to adjust *after* some reflection and seat time in other owners vehicles. What a resource to be able to try different mods in such a rare car with people you trust and are able to talk over what/why a various mod is a fit for your particular use case. My big take away overall - 1M owners in general are true enthusiasts, the slightest of subtle nuances is not overlooked and these cars are made for people that love to drive cars! |

The drive home had a different result. CS fared better on fuel economy, but also thought it traveled a little farther even though they both got reset in the same parking lot. 1M 262 miles recorded, 27.3 mpg CS 265 miles, 28.1 mpg We fought a pretty strong headwind and gained elevation on the way there….minimal tail wind on the way home today.
