I'm not getting used to the new M4
Stumbled across this photo of a trip up to the Alpine region in the little 1M, glorious drive. We bumped into the Alpine club at our accomodation and just came out to get the bags to find a new M4 parked beside me.
Now the 1M has never been described as a pretty car, but interestingly, beside the new M4, I'm temped to see it that way....... Gee that new M4 is different. |

Same problem we had 50-years ago defending the "looks" of the 2002.
Purposeful and "appropriate" come to mind. Form following function without unnecessary pulchritude. That's why I love my 128i M-sport and find it beautiful. |

I was at cars and coffee yesterday looking at many beautiful cars when my old 1M pulled up, then pulled away a few minutes later.... Yup, beautiful car still.

G80 looks OK in Tanzanite Blue or BSM - otherwise I notice the grilles too much. I am happy they offer a manual, so I can’t complain too much.
But, if I was BMW - I would offer a little lighter manual (pure) with M8 grilles, cloth seats, short shifter, reduced sound insulation, passive suspension and only offer it in 3 colors, with a few bits here and there like Porsche did with the Carrera T. It would be a hit IMVHO. |
