bit off topic: but do anyone here knows what is the actual weight of the engine cover, and what are the weight savings for replacing this with a carbon fiber one? |

There is a foam pad under the valve cover. It's there to quiet the noise from the Direct Injection. When I changed my spark plugs I was shocked at how loud the engine is without that valve cover installed. Second function is to prevent dirt/dust/water from getting in contact with your sparkplugs/coils/injectors and wiring. Third is to prevent oil(when adding oil) to get in contact with the sparkplugs/coils/injectors and wiring.

I like the idea of an action or splatter painted engine cover....but I don't like the way his was painted....not enough energy or abstract energy in its execution.
