My 125i build
Hola
I thought I'd made a thread about my 125i build, car came with an M package from the factory, a lot has been done with the car but it still ain't finished. This thread is made to share my passion and also to maybe give some inspiration to people. There was a whole lot of research on most of the things I did/upgraded on my car so if there are any questions feel free to ask. If someone has some good ideas or improvements/tips for the build, let me know! Modifications Done Exterior

asn993 I got the mirrors from AliExpress, there are multiple ways to get them here in the Netherlands but they are a bit pricey, I got them from Ali for around €100
Petro135 The rubber fits without any modifications, if you want to go even wider you probably will need to roll or pull the fenders |

How difficult was the headunit install? Not a fan of the fitment for any of the double DIN units and losing my heated seat buttons, but cutting the dash also worries me.

Papa Popov I did not install the head unit myself because I did not have the correct tools and did not want to risk it, but it is a very simple install, depends on how your dash looks.
If you have nothing, you have to cut a hole in the dashboard to fit the head unit, if you ever want to get rid of it and want to go back to the original buy a BMW storage box they are the same size. If you have a storage box or an original BMW navigation take it off and fit the new one in there, when using my head unit you keep the functionality of the original BMW iDrive system there is a way to swap between them. I did the install myself on my old car because it had a storage box and did not need any cutting in the dash, easy install! When selling the car took out the head unit, storage box back in place and no one saw that it had the head unit. Installed the head unit in my current car and voila. |
