That car stance, design, lines and overall look is absolutely brilliantly beautiful! Literaly!

In my opinion this is one of the most beautiful ever designed cars.

BMW is really screwing up the critical transition to EVs. I am really offput by their EV models both from outside and inside esthetics. There is no BMW gene on these cars anymore and it's just a disjointed mishmash of disparate ideas.

Audi for example is doing so much better in this regard, keeping their design language more consistent and appealing. Fortunately I am not in need of a new car before 2025, but I worry BMW will have completely lost me by then.

When I saw the first 3-series E21 in 1976, I thought the same thing when comparing it to the grace and beauty of the 2002

Here we are 45 years later saying the same thing

This doesn't mean I disagree with your comments, it merely reflects the short memories of folks in retrospect

I have a feeling the production models will also feature lighter/clearer lenses since regulations typically don't like tinted lights.

Sure, your opinion, but why did you put two completely different SUVs next to each other? (They're the same color I guess?)

This not an EV. It's a V8.
And Audi doesn't have an EV that's better than ix.

Lightbulb Philosophy of Design!

I have not been able to bring myself to Bimmerpost for a while due to the disgust of the bloated and convoluted BMW Exterior Designs as of late.

Perhaps BMW and they’re board members need to re-learn and look back at their Master Designers - Philosophy of Design.

Frank Stepherson, is the “OG” Designer of the modern classic 1999 BMW X5 SAV 🚙 with matching Motorcycle 🏍 Trailer. Stepherson and Bangle had it right in just 6-weeks! Adrian van Hooydonk and the BMW board members have seriously made a mess of things, BMW exterior designs have gone south ever since. As a Creative Director and a BMW M4 and X4 fan, Frank, you had it right 👍🏻 back in 1999!!!

BMWs XM Concept 🚙 is the tech 🔋 direction BMW needs to go in.

Exterior Pros: Like the exterior lighting package, especially the additional roof spotlights. Like the rear dual roundel badging.

Exterior Cons: X7 long and large wheelbase. Boxy CAD flat surface exterior design. Lame looking M rims. No trailer hitch. Price tag. Interior Design: Overall looks good, besides for the trippy multi-coloring, and slippery silk rear seats 💺.

Well, the OG X5 looks like a lifted up E39, just meh. If this dude was still relevant, he would be designing cars, not making whiny YouTube videos. His time has passed. BMW designs didn’t go south at all, actually it seems like they’ve just started designing. And they just had the most successful year in their history, even relative to competition.
