Yeah I've been in touch with that dude, you can get the BMW Perf seats (pair) w/ airbag delivered to your door with rails for about $4500 USD.
I was looking into seats because on 195cm tall, and the sunroof makes driving with a helmet impossible. It would almost be cheaper to ditch the sunroof than buy seats, but the recaros are a wonderful place to sit. |

You know those seats will get picked up in customs guaranteed so add 10% plus around 200 for customs handling.
Postage from Poland is going to be painfully slow or stupid expensive to Australia, it will be more like 500 usd + I know I had many things shipped from there. The BMW/recaro rails are 2014.024.1 and 2014.024.2 and are around 800+aus delivered Oh if you don't buy from Aussie supplier good luck getting any spare parts or support from them. I have a set of second hand seats and they don't want to help with any spare parts for my race car because I didn't purchase from them. Then you need install and wiring. If something was to go wrong the problems you will run into trying to claim. This is why i spend the extra dollars and brought locally and I'm fully covered by our laws Another thing because the airbag is classed as an explosive device you might not be able to air freight them and only by sea freight |

I never said it was easy. Or Cheap, the Quote included shipping to my door, it was about $350 from memory. I understand all the rest too, you should have seen the amount of Camaro and Cadillac stuff that was on my old VE.
I decided though, that the next time I have cash I'll simply replace the roof. Much cheaper. http://1m-raze.revozport.com/1mroof.html |

What im saying dont waste your time importing to save a few dollars its not worth it, but each to their own
If your replacing a sunroof version its worth it, but if not its a waste of time But it does look cool |

^^ I agree about importing. I think it has to be considerably cheaper to be worth it, or unavailable locally. There is a risk vs reward curve for importing and each individual has their own level of risk they will be willing to tolerate.
As for these seats, $4500 usd works out to be just shy of $6k AUD to your door. Plus customs plus Plus install, plus other bits and bobs, closer to $7500 (probably more). So there is potentially $500 - $1000 to save, but you assume a lot of risk. Until I saw this thread, I thought buying overseas was my only option. But now that the seats can be done locally for more or less the same price, with help if things go awry, I dont believe the overseas ones remain an attractive option. My car has a sunroof, so the carbon fibre roof will hopefully free up some space. Maybe next year after tax time I'll hit you up for a set of these seats, they look wonderful. |

Buying OS is not always the cheapest way as mentioned.
Customs will be 10% GST and 5% duty plus customs fees. You will have to complete the N10 form once notified by customs and shipper, then work out the various categories and codes, unless they are doing the lot for you. Sometimes long delays with customs. I have waited a month over the quoted shipping time from OS.

I FKN love these seats but yeah they're kinda a tad too expensive for my purpose (same as you K-Bag too tall with helmet on)
In my scenario I think I would be best to buy a cheapish cobra seat or something with some low custom lowmounts that bolts in for a track day for say $1500-2000. Removing the drivers seat only takes 5 mins so it wouldn't be too much hassle. (FWIW I have M3 seats with heating so they're kinda nice anyway) |

Hi, I saw websites, you installed seats Recaro Sportster CS with airbags. I would like to ask you about airbags instalation. I´ve got seats Recaro Sportster from Renault Megane RS with airbags and would like to install in to E90.
I would like to please you for advice with airbags instalation, what I need for or if I shall install connector. Into the seats Recaro I will install occupancy sensor and other things from BMW seats. Now, please, I need to know infromations about airbag, if it´s enough... Thanks Dave |

How did you go with install? Im about to attempt the same ething in an E82.
Well for anyone interested im mid way through the process, its very much more involved than I anticipated, the 2 main issues are 1) the "Renault Sport" logo on the head rest, i bought the entire megan interior (front & rear seats) I grafted enough leather from the rear seats to sew in and change the head rest panel. 2) The seat mount is very different, I have been busy cutting away the access steel to shrink the structure down to an absolute minimum and fit universal seat rails as my aim is to get the seat position lower than stock. From an upgrade perspective I plan to use a set of lumber and bolster air bladders from an old BMW seat and use a simple squeeze bulb to inflate them (like on a medical blood pressure machine).
