I've been using Castrol 0W-40 older LL01 approved stock. Runs fine. I did experience more vis degradation from a UOA than I expected given really low miles. ? I think it might be b/c I run short trips too often? I'll try olive oil only if it's from Kalamata olives.

Liqui-moly molygen 5w40 in the green bottles. My favorite so far. With all my recent oil leaks I've been putting in cheaper oil. Running the car a little and checking for leaks. I have 1 left then its back to liqui-moly green for me

Motul 8100- forgot what weight they used but The car has always been in Florida and Texas and felt that the motul made the engine rev faster/respond faster. Possibly because of a lighter weight oil. Not many shops carry it though.

I just did the OFHG and changed back To castrol edge edge 5w30 and the idle has noise and vibration has gotten a lot better : I know the 0w40 or 0w30 is better in winter but call me crazy, I feel like my car runs better on 5w30 -_- |

But the cap on the car says bmw recommends castrol and I think the owner manual says 5w30 grade. What are you using out of curiosity? |

I have been using Penrite oils in my cars for many years and was stoked when I learned that they made an oil to BMW LL-01 specs. To all aussie 1addicts, Penrite HPR-5 packaging may claim LL-04 specs but this is incorrect. I have been in contact with Penrite HQ and they confirm that this is a mis-print which should read LL-01.

I have been using BMW 5W-30 and it gives my ride a boost to ashes. Really great. And i also get my maintenance done by 247 home rescue in the UK. Excellent service.

I'm in USA and I plan on running Pennzoil Euro 5W-30. I see Longlife-04 but not LL-1 in the bottle. Is that bad?
If yes, what is everyone using right now 2022? |

I typically use Redline oils in the BMW...either 0w40 or 5w30. If I can't find either, my go-to 'good' oil is Castrol 0w30 European (formerly known as German Castrol, or GC for short). GC also goes in the Tacoma and (supercharged) Mustang, If that's worth anything...
