Finally got around to installing the Bimmerlabs standard 130i tune to my 128i w/ 3-stage IM after problems with a bad cable, Windows 10 issues, and a whole lot of general 'life getting in the way'.
So worth it. Some may say that even without the tune, the 3-stage IM makes a difference on the N52, but with the tune, there's a very noticeable difference. The butt-dyno approves. Last edited by Donkeyshins; 01-29-2023 at 07:51 PM.. |

A nice little collection of things came in today! Trunk net with eyelets and hardware, front smoker’s package delete to prepare for Induktiv charger, and LCI HVAC control! Ooh, things are getting better and better with my nearly 15-year-old car!

I'm curious: how is the LCI HVAC control different / better than pre-LCI? Looks identical to what's on my pre-LCI.

I live in Miami, so the “Rest” function is pretty worthless, and I found this piece for around $35USD in near perfect shape, so I figured I’d give it a shot. I also have a suspicion the temp control/sensors in my original HVAC controls aren’t reading correctly, so either way, I’m happy. The only button that is worn out is the AC button on the right, and my original one is perfect, so hopefully I’ll be able to just swap them and I’ll be good to go. 🤙 |

For whatever it's worth, my car is a US 2009 135i with iDrive only. No other packages. This is exactly what my factory unit looks like: |

Yeah, I can say I've never found a use for the Rest button
(says the FL resident... ) Sync button seems to be the hot setup, and is the normal setting in The Wife's x1 (2013)

Cleaning up my pile of parts since things are getting a little nicer out. Probably gonna get the forsvara SF bushing removal tool to get my projects moving forward. Can anyone tell me if that tool can also be used for the diff bushings? And the two smaller control arm/trailing arm(I think) bushing along the bottom. Or if there is another toolkit that would work. I see one on eBay but it says it for a bunch of 5-series chassis. I used an air hammer when doing all this to my Lexus but I would prefer a tool of sorts for this.
Probably gonna order the Revshift solid bushings, unless they happen to have a bad rap around here.

If you decide you want it, I'm planning be done with the one I bought from another forum member a while back in a few weeks. It's the Forsvara tool. It'll be the same $60 shipped as I paid for it. I believe that would make you at least the 4th forum user of it

To paraphrase Columbo: "Just one more thing..."
(Not Blacklines, standard LCI - but also only ~50% of the cost of Blacklines) The bright lights above the backup lights are the rear fogs - this was the general test to make sure everything was working - the flashers were just beginning to fade as my reaction time is not great when taking a phone photo) |

Had the hood repainted. Rock chips gone. Flawless (ignore the water spots from the body shop wash)...

Oh man, I attempted to tackle a sunroof shade replacement today! Should I post the quick version or the story-telling version?

Okay, story incoming!
In the meantime, I still have the original ED temp tag on the front bumper via double sided tape. It’s obviously old and faded, so I ordered a brand new replacement number plate. But now I’m considering removing the adhesive and polishing the bumper to get that clean look and kinda going back and forth on which way to go. Thoughts? (Pic is with my neighbor’s ‘22 230i) |

Looks like El Nina season is coming to a close. So I blew off most of the grime from the last 2 rainy months.
Then the winter “cold” temps (mid 30’s. CA. What can I say) hit, and set off all the nannies. Each tire needed about 6 more PSI. |
