LED strips arent working on black line LCI tail lights
Hey I need your help guys. On my right tail light, the 2 LED strips don't light up. All of the other bulbs work. For example, when i step on the brake, turn on signals, and reverse. Those lights work. I found a website that sells the bulbs http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...95&hg=63&fg=20
But i'm not sure which bulb to buy. Can you guys help me out? It'd be much appreciated. Thanks. |

I don't think it is any of those bulbs. Try reseating the plastic insert that snaps into place (highlighted below). If it's not just right the LED bars won't light up.
Bulbs from diagram: 5 - brake lights 4 - rear fog light 3 - back up light 2 - turn signal |

What do you mean by the plastic insert? Are you talking about the metal clamp that clips onto a piece of plastic on the tail light? I'm really stressed out. I bought these tail lights from schmeidmann.com and they don't want to send me a replacement.

The thing that holds the four bulbs. Remove and reinsert it to ensure proper connection. You squeeze the tabs together and pull it out toward the front of the vehicle.

Yes you may have gotten the non-xenon. How much was it bc the cheaper non-xenon is $250 and the xenon is $330.

Same tail lights but one doesn't light up with daytime running lights but the other one will.

check your connections. i had the same problem, somehow the connector was fully seated but the metal tab that enables the lights to work was not in contact.

I had this problem when I installed mine, after taking the bulb out and flipping it around it worked, could of been a connection issue like already stated but possibly it can be inserted more than one way but only works one way?
I didn't look into it any further was just happy it was working |

I know this thread is quite old but this issue frustrated me so much. I was not in the mood to spend money to replace these tail lights. I figured out a solution to the issue of the LED tail light bar not lighting up. Check out my Youtube video. Hope this helps someone with this issue:
