3 Stage intake Bimmerlabs tune Dyno results

SO we've all heard the claims of up to around 45hp from the 3SI, but today I was able to get my car on the DYno and test this. My drivetrain setup is as follows:

3 stage Intake
second cat, resonator, and muffler delete

The results ended up being... 219 wheel horsepower and 214 ft lbs of torque:
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ragbGauV8wQ
I wish I had gotten a baseline before doing the intake and tune, but others have posted stock numbers of 203whp: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86852 This is by far the best power mod for these motors, especially considering that the Bimmerlabs tune is a (free) factory 330i tune, meaning I can still get another 10-15hp with the StageFP or AA tune. This puts this motor right in E36 M3 range, as others have posted dyno sheets from that car with 214-215whp stock. Very nice to see these gains with a junkyard intake and a free tune. Now for headers and euro air box...

Excellent - I think you gained a bit through the freer flowing exhaust as well.

I wasn't aware the euro intake, or the performance exhaust, made any increase in either hp or torque, but only an increase to the aural palate?

I had similar mods but used and AA tune and headers and ran 241/219. So there is power on the table. Enjoy.

Probably some gain from secondary cat removal. Had a look at mine after removal - extremely restrictive.

Is the bimmerlabs tune still available? Their site seems to be down nowadays. markslc1’s remark makes me wonder if the 500 for the AA tube is trying first, though. I assume since it’s for the n51 as well it will take advantage of the 3SI as well as headers?

Afaik bimmerlabs is still going, I’m able to get into the site no problem. Still looks the same as when I tuned my car. IIRC that’s correct, the AA tune has the capability to control the disa valves as well, as the 3SI came stock on the n51. The benefit of the AA tune is that they account for the headers and maximize power accordingly, whereas the bimmerlabs tune is just a “base/stock x30i” tune that activates the disa’s, so it’s expecting factory manifolds with cats as well

Jbam9 - Is your car manual or auto transmission? (I'm currently guessing manual)

It’s auto beleive it or not, ZF 6 speed. Eventually I plan to swap out the entire drivetrain but that’s still a good ways down the line. For now it’s reliable and comfortable to drive in traffic

Where is everyone downloading the software like WinKFP?

The standard tools and SP-Datens downloads on BimmerGeeks have been taken down.

Edit: Search Mike's Easy BMW Tools Package and you can find a MEGA link to download all the software.
