VMR V701 Tire Size
I am looking to purchase 18x9.5 et50 rear and 18x8.5 et45 front V701 wheels for my 2012 M Sport 135i. I have looked through the wheel and tire fitment threads and haven't found a clear answer for how wide of a tire I can put without any modifications. I would like to go as wide as possible in the rear without any rubbing. I want to know what you guys think and what has been done before. Any and all comments are appreciated

Based on my research, I would stay as close to stock ET as possible, I have a 128, unless there is a big difference in stock set up between our models...I racked my brain over the previous two weeks about what to get for my set up, and settled on
225/40/18 x 8.5 and 245/35/18 x 9.5, my set up will be on by this Friday, having the shop try a 255 just as a look see on how it approaches the fender... The peeps over a Bavarian Auto, are excellent and will help you decide...they carry VMR and Beyern... |

Do you happen to know the offsets on those wheels? And I'm kind of leaning toward a smaller wheel width (8.5) and going with a 255 tire to protect my investment. I have to parallel park on a daily basis and sometimes I'm not quite perfect

I spoke to a VMR rep last month and he cautioned against a 255 tire on the 701 18x9.5 wheel. recommended the 245 tire for the 9.5" wheel however, he said a 255 on the 8.5 wheel would fit the rear. max 225 in the front.
18x8.5 w/45 offsets front and rear = 225's and 255's on stock MSport suspension. |
