120D N47 2008 Stuck fuel injector
Hi guys,
I recently bought a 2008 120d. At first glance it was a clean vehicle, good maintenance records, good performance... And then I took it to a garage Obviously this is where the problems started. My first wish was to replace the timing chain and have the engine serviced (oil, filter, spark plugs...) - this never happened. I took the car in and got a call the next morning. One of the injectors was completely stuck and they were unable to remove it. According to them, the cylinder with the stuck injector is worn out and the engine is done (even though they didn't check anything other than the oil and the top of the stuck injector). I'm no expert, but here's why I don't necessarily agree: My fuel consumption is 6.0L - 100KM No dashboard lights on Engine management system says everything is fine Performance seems normal too New turbo fitted 3 years ago Regular oil changes, last one about 7 months ago I don't think the stuck injector is stuck open, nor do I think that this per se means the engine is completely lost. Maybe I am being too optimistic? Any advice or similar experiences? I'd be grateful for any help. |
