Factory Replacement Key
Got a question…I purchased my 2010 BMW 128i coupe about 3 months ago. Only came with one key from the owner. So I figure I will go spend the $$ and get a second key just in case.
I go to my local dealership and order a key which come from the factory. They try to initilize the key and can not seem to do it. So they figure the key was not properly programmed at the factory and order a second key. That arrives and it won’t initilize either. Mind you, my original key works fine but now they are trying to get me in the hook to diagnose this key issue. I’m already out $350+ for the factory replacement key which doesn’t work. Anyone else ever have problems like this or have an idea why the new factory key won’t work? I’m trying to avoid some monster bill from the dealership just to have a second key. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

Thank you. Agreed. Not like the key was inexpensive…I always have concerns dealing with the dealership…
I may go the route with BMWNA. I appreciate the advice… |
