Well the car is back together. I have a tank of distilled water with mild detergent running through the coolant to get the last oil remnants out of the system.
So after a few start ups, and a few random initial misfire codes, the car is running great. Drives great. Holding temperatures well. I'm going to take it easy for a while but what a car. Feels great. I can't wait to finally start enjoying it. First thing is first tomorrow. A good car wash. |

Issue seems to be resolved.
After days of flushing, pumping, and cleaning, then a few final flushes with Prestone radiator cleaner for good measure, the car has coolant back in it. New job came with a 80 mile round trip commute over the last week so I have had a good test run to see how everything looks. There has only been a very light film of oil in the exp tank all week and just some residue on the sides. With how much contamination there was I am sure I'll have a little bit float up to the exp tank for several weeks to come. I am confident that due to such a small amount coming up that there isn't a head issue. Looks like the cleaning and all new OFHG solved the issue. Now onto new injectors. |
