Monday:
- upper rad hose - oil cooler return line - mickey mouse flange - DCT Filters / pan / fluid - oil change + frsh coolant Big relatively expensive day! Still need a cornering lamp (stupidest thing ever), steering rack boots, alignment, track wheels + brakes. Hopefully after that I'll be happy with the car for a bit. |

Ordered my race car a Tillett C1 Carbon/Grp Racing Seat for the driver side and a Tillett B6 Screamer Carbon/GRP Racing Seat for the passenger side and had the carbon tinted Candy Apple Red like they do on Hypercars. Stay tuned for some installed pics!

Nice ride. Anthracite wheels smoked tips and dark lines would set it off.

Hyper black is a color shift paint, black at some angles and silver at others. APEX discontinued it due to durability issues and lack of ability to touch up AFAIK. Would have loved them for my car, anthracite a bit too dark but it's all they had in gunmetal shades.

Wheels are a square setup, 17x8, 40 ET, and tires are 235-45-17 and car is on Bilstein B12 so moderately lowered. I don't get rubbing in the rear and a tiny little bit on the top of the front fender wells under really tight, hard corners.

Am running this setup on mine with 18's and have rubbing only on severe dips. I made this combo to be sure I would clear the 135 front brakes (same as BMW Performance except the Brembo calipers are grey). Running Michelin Pilot A/S tires.

I put in the Rogue transmission mounts, replaced coolant, and then I resolved the nasty sound from the front left after putting in the SS lines and end links last weekend.
Turns out that at full left lock, the very tip of the bracket holding the brake line would briefly snag the plastic box holding the speed and brake wear sensor connectors. Made a godawful snapping / breaking sound that I heard exactly twice before parking the car until I could get to it today. I must have bent the bracket when I replaced the end links, so I straightened it out and moved everything around repeatedly at all steering angles to make sure nothing else was touching or snagging or impeding. Glad it wasn't anything more serious – that sound scared the c*** out of me. Attachment 3427568 Last edited by Almuliman; 04-06-2024 at 01:40 AM.. |

Today I looked at my car in blocks and laughed. I was supposed to be done by now with my swap. I installed a pressure tester since I have to do the water pump anyway and only want to make 1 parts order. Leaking from lower radiator hose and water pump (which I already knew about). I think the radiator hose got snagged up when I pulled the auto transmission off the car. I braced the motor but I think maybe I pulled a bit too hard when getting to that top trans bolt.
Still left to do: Install clutch slave cylinder and plumbing Install clutch/ brake pedal and manual gas pedal. Install driveshaft Loop old auto trans oil cooler setup Wire Code Re-install interior pieces Install new water pump, thermostat, and lower radiator hose. No more heavy lifting. I just need to carve out an hour here and there to finish. I'm slightly concerned with the angle of the 135i SSK. I may end up pulling it out and going with a factory 128i shifter setup. |

Oil change 5w-40, swapped on the summer shoes, and wired in some generic post cat o2 sensors.
