Coding off all airbag and emergency call stuff
First, I do recognize that this info is likely buried in some build threads but I am hoping for a direct link from authors vice having to hunt.
Situation: just got my half cage installed. Also race seats. Headliner gone. Side airbags gone. All stock seatbelt stuff gone, front and rear. Looked through options in protools but can't seem to find everything to disable to stop the sos codes and airbag light and codes. Not sure what other items I can disable or their effects if I do. Ask: would appreciate guidance on how to disable everything and what is safe or not to disable without having to do a word search on German words and phrases. I do recall on thread discussed changing VO to ignore some modules would be OK but didn't bookmark that post (shame on me) so I can do it right. One of the ones that makes me scratch me head is the Transmission module telling me the occupancy sensor is off...why the heck does the DCT need to know that and what is the effect (doesn't seem to have any). TIA for any help you race conversion Jedis can provide a padawan.

Oh...I also want to remove all audio stuff that's easy to get to (amps, speakers, wires)...want to code any annoying stuff from that out as well.

I don't have the answer, but you should also try to ask on the Protool FB group page. They are pretty good with the help.

So, after the below steps (thx to amg6975 ), I have no airbag or SOS lights!
And, the Airbag module, which is at the back of the center console, attached to the tunnel, can be taken out without removing the entire console...I removed the flip up thing and then all the hold down bolts/nuts except the front ones and you can pry up the read and get to all the bolts/nuts to remove the metal bracket over the airbag module and then the airbag module itself. So, I coded out all the individual airbag items in the airbag module but was still getting the airbag codes, seatbelt codes, and SOS codes (headliner FZD module physically removed). I did not do any VO coding. Here is what amg6975 discovered (and I hope he doesn't mind me cutting and pasting the steps for posterity here). "I found these two parameters in the KOMBI: COMBOX_ALIVE_MONITOR COMBIX_ID_MONITOR well, I took out the COMBOX so I set these both to nicht_activ... SOS error gone from the KOMBI. This got me thinking and sure as shit right above those were: SFY_ALIVE_ZAEHLER SFY_ID_MONITOR SFY is the airbag stuff... just for shits and giggles I set these to night_activ and completely unplugged the ABG module. No errors! The car is now perfectly happy with no seats, no seat belts, no occupancy sensors, no accelerometers or other crash sensors, no airbags, and no airbag module, no COMBOX, no FZD."
