Intermittent key fob issues
Background:
2013 135Is with comfort access - Driver side CA has not worked since I got the car last fall. Passenger side works fine. - Car came with one fob; I ordered a second fob a while back but have not taken it to the dealer to have it paired with the car, so it locks, unlocks but needs to be inserted in ignition to start car. - Occasionally, I have an issue where the old fob will not unlock the car nor the trunk. Yesterday, both fobs did this to me. Eventually one of them worked to unlock the car. - Both batteries in the fobs are new. I believe my battery is good. So help me out here. What can cause an intermittent failure like this? |

I was finally able to check for codes with MHD:
- DME active codes - 3106 - Catalytic converter: Efficiency below limit value. 387F - Power management: Standby current violation. Today, more key fob weirdness. Fob wouldn't unlock the door after a short trip, so I used the valet key to get in. Then, all the radio presets had vanished. Can anyone help decipher those codes? |
