Under $10k? Er, not really. Not for any enthusiast-spec model.
Sure you can find some under $10k, but if I looked hard enough I could probably find a Corvette C6 ZO-6 under $10k too.

A decent 1-series for under $10K?
 You might be able to get a project for that price. With an autotragic. No thanks.Admittedly, my standards are quite high. I also find it amusing when these sorts go on about how six-cylinder engines are SUCH a big part of BMW. The vast majority of BMWs ever made have been fours, and the HQ in Munich has four round towers to represent that.  The do make a nice six though.
