clicking sound/radio and aux not working

Hello!

Trying to trouble shoot this issue. I have a 2008 128i convertible. About a week ago my radio went out and a clicking noise started playing over my speakers its just "click click" at regular intervals, maybe every 3 or 4 seconds. The radio will work occasionally, but the aux has completely stopped working.

I've tried replacing the amp, and unplugging the radio turner and harmon amp and the sound still comes through. The only thing that stops it is keeping the amp unplugged. I'd love other suggestions as to what could be wrong, especially things I could try to trouble shoot myself, I've spent quite a lot on repairs this year and would love to avoid a trip to the shop.
