Rpm jumping and shaking no misfire codes n54
Hey everyone I’m looking for some advice or insight if anyone’s had the same issue.
I’ve been having a surging issue for the past two years. As of now I’ve tried now coils and plugs twice to be certain with no improvement. There have been zero stored or active codes in the DME until last week but nothing correlating to misfires or anything of that nature. Accompanying the surging is shaking that is substantially worse when going uphill. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to upload a video but the best way to describe it is when I’m cruising the rpm will flutter inbetween 1.5k-2k rpm’s with my foot at the same amount of throttle the whole time Two active codes I have as of last week : 29F3 Fuel low-pressure sensor. electric 2415 Fuel tank ventilation system and purge air system. minor leak I’ve gone ahead and ordered the low pressure fuel sensor and a new gas cap hoping that’ll correct the issue and if not atleast have my car back to no error codes but I’m open to any other suggestions or input to help me pinpoint and correct the issue. 2008 135i 290k TIA! |

Finally got around to swapping the sensor out…
When I was putting the I take manifold back in I guess I touched one of the positive terminals on the starter and got a few sparks. Got everything put back together and started no issue, went to test drive and got a half engine light with a 2E68 knock sensor bank one. I’m going to assume I shorted that sensor directly out. Before I go ahead and order the replacement I would assume that’s the case ? Lesson learned even if I do a oil change I’m disconnecting the battery… not my week lol |
