Item Interest
BMW N54/N55 HPFP Rebuild/Upgrade Service.

This service includes an upgrade to all Viton seals on the fuel side for E85 compatibility!! The OEM seals swell and tear when used with E85, causing leakage and high pressure fuel loss. Avoid this issue with Viton!

All seals on the hydraulic side are replaced with OEM equivalents.

At high loads/pressures for tuned cars, the rotary seal can also push out, draining all of the hydraulic fluid and leaving you stranded with high pressure fuel loss. This service includes a retaining clip above the rotary seal to prevent it from pushing out!

We also perform a fluid leak check on the bellows separator to ensure they haven’t failed.

A vacuum is pulled on the hydraulic fluid to get nearly ALL entrained air out of the hydraulic side; air is a hydraulic system killer!! The pump is refilled with OEM equivalent hydraulic fluid and the rotary seal is replaced with a new one.

YOU MUST SHIP US YOUR PUMP AS PART OF THIS REBUILD SERVICE!

Hi, take a look at our listing on eBay:
https://ebay.us/m/ll3uyi

Or, if you search N54 HPFP on eBay we should be the 5th listing or so.

I understand there were some revisions to the HPFP along its lifecycle. Does this include such upgrades to match those?

The latest factory pumps are up to index 5 now. I’ve rebuilt -01 through -05 pumps and haven’t visually seen any differences. Without precisely measuring the internal components, since all of the components visually appear to be the same, it’s tough to say what the differences between indexes are. However, I will say that after rebuilding them I’ve seen all indexes perform more or less the same.

Otherwise, the only upgrades we perform are the addition of a backing ring and retaining ring to capture the rotary seal for increased rotary seal longevity and the use of Viton o-rings on the fuel side for E85 compatibility.

Cool, I'll hop on eBay and process for a rebuild. I'm not willing to give up PI for DI only, I still appreciate the benefits DI provides.

Bump

I’ve rebuilt over 30 fuel pumps to date between forums and eBay sales. Among those customers some were rebuilds for mechanics shops as well.

Since this listing says $175, if I purchase the eBay listing for $200 do you credit back the difference?

The $175 is a forums price, I charge $200 on eBay due to eBay fees. I regularly do business off of eBay.

Send your pump to the following address if using USPS:

Performance Engineering Solutions
P.O. Box 2024
Plainville, MA 02762

Send your pump to the following address if using UPS/Fedex:

Performance Engineering Solutions
127 South St
Unit 2024
Plainville, MA 02762

Once you send please provide the tracking number so I can prepare for the pumps arrival. Once it’s delivered to me you pay at that point and then I’ll rebuild and ship the pump back within 2-3 days (normally 2 days). We can discuss payment details via PM

Just got my HPFP back from Konstat and immediately went out for a rip, everything works exactly as it should. He patiently answered all of my many questions before and after I received the pump. The turnaround time was less than a day, and it’s clear he really knows his stuff.
The pump actually looks better than before, and now I have peace of mind knowing the seals won’t fail again running E85 😅
I highly recommend having him rebuild your HPFP instead of paying 5x more for a brand-new OEM pump.

konstat might be interested....MHD is throwing me DME inactive shadow codes 2BDE & 2BF0. You or anyone have any thoughts on correlation here?

Looks like previous owner replaced in back in 2022 at 71,954miles (currently at 106k.

grywng could be the HPFP, injectors, or rail pressure sensor. If your car long cranks on a cold start then it’s the HPFP. Is it long cranking?

Let's just say I could grab a cup of coffee before it finishes cranking. Before tuning MHD Stage 1 it was maybe 3-4 sec now it's closer to 5-7.

Any recommended DIY instructions/video you have on hand for removing HPFP to ship over?

Haha gotcha, that makes sense and it means that the pump is low on oil, likely near empty.

A lot of good videos on YouTube for HPFP replacement. You could try bimmer barns video:

Also, you don’t have to remove the intake manifold, to gain access you just need to remove up to the throttle body. The passenger side pump mounting bolt is hard to remove that way but still very doable with an extended 5mm Allen socket and some ratchet extensions. I got my 5mm socket from harbor freight
