last time I was at a auto cross the third fastest car there was this
AND it was a woman driver! the only upgrades were tires and shocks. bmw's arm't really straight line racers either. red light racing or what. Those hondas have fast acceleration. I consider it a fair "race" off the line me in my e46 330i against a honda, also I never floor it, so if they try harder... let them win. My point is it's more the driver and conditions than the car 90% of the time. ...when we worked the corners at the auto cross and the instructor (the woman in that honda) tore ass around the turns all you could do is stare and try to keep your mouth shut. |

Sorry to say, but when you have a nice sports car you are going to be challenged alot of people with cars in and out the 135i's class. Its just the way it is now a days. Most of the time though, people just want to see you fly because they've heard so much about a particular car, so they try to egg you on. I was in my 2000 Celica when I tried to egg on a 335i when I first saw one when they came out just to see how bad ass it was at wot:biggrin:
In other words don't take it to the ass, its always you're decesion to not race and see them make an ass out of themselves. |

This is my take: You don't need to do anything. I swear I did this three times, solves the whole problem...
Civic/ Accord/ Z350 at the light, revving up, looking at ya'. Get outta your car, go up and put your nose almost on top of the offending car's the emblem, stare at it, go over to yours (damn the beeping horns at thi s point) and then do the same thing to your own emblem. Then look up, smile a cats meow smile, get back in your car and take off reaaaallll slow. My attitude is, a Vette may be able to blow away about every Ferrari on the road in a straight line... But at the end of the day... it's still a Vette. |

I've never once in my 39 year existence, seen a single Civic, Accord, or Z driver that would make it 20 steps into a prison before getting turned into a woman. A butterfly like metamorphosis...
They've all been pencil necked, girly armed weenies that I see here in SoCal. |

From a dig, the STi/EVO has the advantage. Everybody knows about an AWD launch, assuming it's done correctly. From a roll, the 335i walks away convincingly, especially with the quick-shifting Steptronic auto. The STi/EVO's short gearing and AWD driveline drag are distinct disadvantages on the freeway. This ain't your mother's 3-series, and that's real. :headbang: Point is, you can get beat in street race by almost anything...you can never tell what's under the hood. There are plenty of ///M3 owners who've had their asses handed to them by lightly modded SRT-4's. |
