1-Series Coupe Production has begun!
European models started production at the BMW Leipzig Plant at the beginning of this month. (Sept.) Keep in mind that the North American 1-Series coupes are not being built yet.

YES!!
The complexity of the Leipzig plant- just the difference in one car to another because of options/countries is mind boggling. Here's hoping that they'll have all the kinks worked out by the time Leipzig starts building the N/A version. Thanks for the info Ultimate.:roundel: |

Autoweek aparently has an inside line on at least the ordering date.
"BMW's 1-series coupe also will debut in Frankfurt. The coupe is the third body style for the entry-premium car after the five- and three-door hatchbacks - and the first to come to North America, where sales start in October". Notice they only say sales, and don't mention delivery. Perhhaps early sales will allow them to gage how big the interest is. |

Hopefully, but the press test drives won't be until after the Frankfurt Auto Show and once an article has been written it usually takes two months before it goes to press. Best guess for reviews = Nov. |

It's great that there will be cars on the (European) road soon that we will see reports on. I think babybmw.com forum will bear watching. Any other euro forums we sould monitor?
