how bad are the backseats???
Hi guys, I am new here and thinking of getting a 135i. The problem is the backseats seem to be real crammed in the car. So I was wondering for those who have a 1 series or have sat in a 1 series coupe, could you please tell me how bad are the backseats? btw, I am about 5'8.

I'm 6,3 and I can fit behind the seat well after I have my seat in my setting. Mini's are so much smaller, that there is no comparison.

I suspect your parents will fit just fine once they get in, but getting in & out might be a bit of a problem.

That's what I would be worried about. Hopefully your parents are in good shape, otherwise it's going to be a painfull experience (physically for them to get into the car and mentally for you to watch). |

ibeam81 : lol don't worry. My parents aren't that old yet. I am sure they won't have problem getting in and out. I am just worried how much more they would complain since they already don't like coupes.
Guys, I found this video on youtube showing the interior of a convertible. The backseats seem to be......I don't know.....what do you guys think?' |

I remember the video with a guy sitting in the backseats at some auto show/promotion. He fit but keep in mind there was no driver sitting in front. The back seat space doesnt look that promising but as everyone is saying this is a "drivers" car.

Would the back seats be more like the Civic coupe?

I'm right between 5'6" and 5'7" and with the front seat adjusted for me (and adjusted to DRIVE, not to slouch) I had decent room in the back.
And I didn't have to tuck my legs back as much in the 135 like I do in my MINI.

With the given dimensions, I can't see it not being a true 4-seater. No way this thing is a 2+2 unless my E36 would qualify as the same.... BMW is just marketing it that way to add appeal to a certain demographic.
It won't be roomy back there, but this is no 911
