BT without iDrive?
Hello. So how does Bluetooth work if I decide not to purchase iDrive? Is there any other display/interface in the car that ties in with the BT system?
Sorry if this is an old subject, I did search, honest! |

No functionality/information display difference. You will see the same Caller ID/Phonebook/Phone menus information in the OEM HU display...

How About Bluetooth Without Assist Package?
I want Bluetooth but I don't want the BMW Assist or Navigation. Is there a way to get BMW Bluetooth alone? I realize BMW thinks we Americans are too retarded to navigate an alla carte spec list, so we can't order just Bluetooth. However, is there a cost effective way to get it installed after purchase? Or, is it less expensive to just buy the BMW Assist package?

In addition, and probably the most important: most of the approved Bluetooth phones are compatible with the factory Bluetooth first, and then the ULF is adapted. Case in point: the iPhone. It was tested and approved fully compatible just before introduction with the factory Bluetooth in all current generation BMW's, but it was not compatible 100% with any accessory ULF until a completely new part was created. It's a no-brainer... order the sucker from factory. :w00t: |
