Wow only 3? I work at a grocery store in a very rich neighborhood and see at least 20 3's. Seen 1 1, tons of 5 series, one 6 series, close to 5 7 series. And every dam friday theres a guy who parks his 760LI V12 in the emergency lane, while his wife goes shopping. I love that car...

And when you're important enough to own a 760LI V12, you're allowed to park it wherever you want.

The only place I've seen them is at the dealer the last 20 times I went there. I also have never even heard one start/run. I have been to BMW several times on all diff days and knowbody is ever looking at them ever. At 3 different dealers. ???

Still stoked how cool it is being only 1er on the road. Have not seen even one other of my twins on the road.
Love the looks I get, especially when its a bimmer fan who knows the car. Loving this bimmer, driven em all but this sorta different but the same, only more responsive, wants to cruise at 80. Love the luxury car feel while not losing the feel of the road. Really a fun car to drive. Now I know what they mean by luxury sports car....keep your miata. See ya out there; were rare but aint hiding! bski 128i vert terra boston leather fogs, cold pkge black saphire metallic. |

Even I can see a half dozen "other" BMWs daily in this small town in the boonies. None of them are BMWs that their drivers really push the limits with, even just now and them.
A lot of people buy BMWs because they can afford one, not necessarily because they can't wait to take it on the nearest twisty road whenever they can. I am getting the feeling that the 1er is appealing to people who get a kick out of driving. Not that other BMW models can't do that--goodness knows that they can--but the 1er seems appealing in a way that the 1983 VW GTI (first year in the states) was appealing. You know that every time you get in the car, you're gonna like the drive, and be smiling at the end. I owned one of those GTIs, and that's the kind of appeal that the 1er has to me. Mine will likely be a 2009, but I'm looking forward to being 30 years old again. |

NO, a saleslady asked me if I wanted to drive the automatic black/coral 135i and I said no. I have been all over the area many times and never seen any on the road around Chicago and the northern suburbs. I work only 14 days a month and do alot of cruising around. Like I said I have been the several BMW dealers on all diff days of the week including many saturdays, and I have never seen anybody looking at a 1 series or ever heard one running. So far they seem to be very unpopular around here.

I see all kinds of great cars where I live (45 miles north of Chicago) but BMW coupes don't seem to poplar around here. I see BMW's all over but never coupes. I think I have seen 2-3 335i's in the last 2 years. Many 328i sedans without the sport pkg, YUK.

Ok since my last posting in this thread sometime late last week I have yet to see one still. Not shocking at all, but what really made the week so far is the three people I've had roll down windows and ask me about the car while driving. One guy was stopped at a light 3 cars in front of me and backed up just to chat and ask about the car.
Any other 1 owners on LI lurking in here? |

I finally saw my first one about a week ago. It was a BSM 135i 'vert with either savannah or taupe interior. It was nice!
FIXED
