question to MA folks
Hi guys,
I am seriously considering getting 135i via ED. Anybody in MA ordered 135i for ED? If so, which dealer, what’s your configuration and price? Thanks all. Alex |

I got mine thru BMW Gallery in Norwell. Peter Charlebois is a great guy. If any of you talk to him, tell him I said "hi".

I just ordered through Herb Chambers as they are allowing me to do ED.
jet Black, Black Boston Leather, sport package, cold weather, 6 speed. $36,900 ED including the $775 detination charge. Hope that helps. ED drops $2495 off the price of the car automatically. |

Without adding that all up: did you get anything off MSRP? Did you try Tulley in Nashua or any other NH dealer at all? I am hoping to get Tulley to match Herb Chamber's deal ($500 off MSRP). |

It's funny though because I was recommended to deal with a specific salesman there and he just didn't know anything about the car. I'd rate their service as poor...

I went to Herb Chambers in Boston and I found they were just too busy to help me. The also didn't have any brochures to give me. I went back on a weekday for a test drive and they still didn't have any brochures. The woman who helped me didn't know much about the car either. She told me the sport package was required to get 18" performance tires and wheels on the 135i which just isn't true.
After that I went to BMW of Peabody and I found them to be much friendlier and helpful. I spent about an hour there just talking to the salesguy about cars and what color I should get and he seemed geniunely enthusiastic and helpful. Both places are only offering me MSRP, though Herb Chambers offered me far less for my trade-in (they didn't even ask about the options on my car). |

Herb Chambers sucks! Stay away from there, they have a bunch of unknowledgable people working there in my opinion. BMW Peabody is a nice dealership, I was offered some discount by them so it can be done. But I would highly recommend visiting one of the BMW Gallerys theres one in Norwell and one on the automile in Norwood.

I got my new 128 vert from BMW of Peabody. They were really friendly and enthusiastic and responsive. I tried to do PCD and the timing didn't work out for me, but my CA was very attentive.

Who did you deal with at BMW of Peabody, Amy? I bought from Ed there and he was friendly and didn't put me under any time pressure at all. He was very laid-back and easy going and we spend some time just talking about cars. At Herb Chambers it always seemed like they were so busy and felt like I was wasting their time.

Overall, I liked everyone there. No pressure, very helpful. Eventually, I'd show up and Vinny would just give me a set of keys for a test drive. I used to visit Herb Chambers Honda for service. And I dealt with them some when I was helping a friend with car shopping. I know the brand makes a difference, but their sales people always rubbed me the wrong way. And I never heard good things about BMW there either. amy! p.s. if you care, I noticed in another thread that Herb Chambers puts a dealer badge on the car. Peabody just gives you a plate holder. |

I have to add to the mix here. I have just finished my purchase from Herb Chambers BMW with delivery at the Performance Center in SC. I had an excellent experience with CA Nick L. The entire experience was very easy, no surprises. I negotiated a fair discount from MSRP by phone and email, and there was not one unexpected expense along the way. Every email and phone call was returned in a reasonable timeframe.
As far as their knowledge about the car and options, I didn't really have any questions - we had already dissected these issues at 1Addicts and probably know more than many people at BMW, particularly for a new car launch. I wouldn't hesitate to refer you to the same CA at Herb Chambers (Commonwealth Ave.)
