thanks for defending the country first of all. second im sorry to hear about this unfortunate news, hopefully you will still be able to keep this, what if you had a friend keep the car for you and work out something as in splitting the monthly pay on it but he would get to use it until you came back, just an idea

Thank you for serving our country and making the sacrifice! (well in this case your beloved car). In appreciation, contact me later when you're ready for "goodies". I will give you an awesome discount on all the parts we make for the 135i.

Ok...so I went to Ft. Benning to report in and spent 2 weeks there in-processing back into the army. When going thru the medical check they saw my 30% disabillity and decided to make me non-deployable. Which is kind of bittersweet, because after being there for a bit and getting to know the guys and wearing the uniform again, I wanted to go. Then again, knowing that my family would have a hard time with a second deployment I was fine with leaving it behind. I spent 2 weeks down in Daytona Beach with my father and just got back up here to Maryland last week. I will not be able to get my car back though, and now I think I have decided to go a bit cheaper and bigger. A 2009 Jeep Unlimited Rubicon, something like this...

So since you are non-deployable why didnt they just attach you to the STB or Rear D? That is a little strange....i mean a good thing for your family and all but still strange...

Because I was only called back from IRR to deploy, I am Infantry, there is no need to keep me at Ft. Benning and the reservist unit that they were going to attach me to already has their own rear D. We were just called in to fill gaps.

Well, sucks that they put you through all that. But, I'm glad you'll be staying in the states with your family.
On another note, I would really research that Jeep before you get it. The JK platform has had some major reliability issues.

nice! That would be the first thing I did. Most if the problems stem from the 3.8l engine that they put in the current jeeps. Still can't see an improvement over the 4.0 that they used to use, which had less horsepower but more torque. Horsepower doesn't do a whole lot when you're wheelin!

Yeah, but it would be nice to pull up to a light next to a corvette and blow his doors off in a Jeep Rubicon. They change everything, so it makes it all-wheel drive...NASTY LAUNCH! |
