Do you / Can you top Zaino with Klasse or Wax?
I've been Zaino-ing for the past month. I've got at least 3 coats on, but for some reason I'm not quite satisfied.
The Zaino looks great and I can tell its protecting. The Water beads off nicely. It's just that it doesn't seem to be a good dust repellant. Dust seems to rest and cling onto Zaino'd paint more so than a thick coat of wax. When I waxxed my VW, dust would settle but not cling since the surface with wax seemed much more slick. Is it ok to put a coat or Klasse All-in-one or was like Pinnacle Sovereign? Anyone have thoughts on this? thanks. |

an AIO will strip the zanio products. As far as wax....its really not needed, and if you to apply any zanio over the wax, you will have to strip the entire car once again.
I wouldnt do either one.

So I am fine with multiple coats of Zaino? I guess I just need to get use to the idea that Zaino is not going to have that wax slickness. |

i've never tried Zaino, but what i do is polish if necessary (i use Pinnacle swirl remover and finishing polish). then Klasse AIO + Klasse SG. the great thing about the Klasse combo is that you can put a good carnauba wax like Pinnacle or P21S over it to make the shine really pop...with no problems and with great results.
here's a couple of samples. i did this last week. but who knows, if zaino has the same composition as klasse, you might be able to top it with a wax as well. i'll wait till someone with experience doing this chimes in... |

Zaino products bond with one another, thus creating a thicker layer of protection. This is the reason they have the accelerator additive for Zaino, to speed the bond process up. KLASSE isnt the same as Zaino, but good imo. There is a place for almost all car products. It really comes down to personal preference. Would i ever use zaino? Probally not, but that is because i dont mind waxes 2 times a month and putting a sealant on my car every 2-3 months. But with that said, zaino is def. one of the best sealants out there and i would use it just as they instruct.
if i were you i would continue with the KLASSE products your car looks great, def. get some Pen. Souveran Paste wax...i have some...one of my MANY waxes...good stuff. just my .02

Do not in any circumstance apply anything over Zaino. If you are dissatisfied with the results of Zaino review the steps you applied the product. You may have left something out.
You are correct in that dust particles do seem to collect but they along with most anything else either blows off or easily washes off better than before the applications. I have found subsequent applications and washings to be much easier. Call

I just Klassed my car this weekend. Even up here in the NW where it rains alot, one good application (AIO + SG) lasts nearly 6 months. That's good enough for me.

I just applied a coat of zaino to my car as well, and I was looking to get a touch up detail spray and was thinking about Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer... should I not if I have a zaino wax?

I am suprised at your car attracting dust with Zaino. Since it has no oils, or fillers, nothing sticky to attract dust as most waxes, I find it hard to imagine it attracting dust. What color? Black ? Black will look dusty within minutes of washing, waxing, anything, right?
If you put on the 3 coats of either Z2 or Z-5 with ZFX catlyst in each coat and wiped down with Z6 in in between the coats, it should look great, and not attract dust easily. If you topped the 3 coats after waiting 8 hrs or more with their Clear Seal, then it will really be protected and shine for months, even almost a year, depending on whether its stored inside overnight, has more covered parking, etc.. Did you claybar the finish before applying the Zaino ? This is a necessary step to get all the stuck on stuff off the paint. You need to remember that airborne stuff falls on your car all the time and alot of it sticks to the paint; some will wash off, some will not, hence the claybar was invented. I would only want to wash, dry, and follow up with their quick detailer, Z6, or the ultimate Z8 Grand Finale detailer.. If you want to change and go back to waxing the car all the time, Zaino suggests a wash with a dish soap like Dawn, only once, to remove all waxes, silicones, oils, etc., off the paint, and start over with what you want to try. Just dont forget to claybar the finish carefully, and insure all panels are smooth as glass before you put on product. Been using Zaino products for years now and it has never failed to make a number of different paint finishes just glow. Good luck on your project! DanF |
