yours is just a car, mine is a bit more than that
well, BMW does not use a 12-coat paint process for one, and regardless of the paint process, it is absolutely possible to scratch it up the first time it's washed if you don't do it right and use the correct products. my attention to detail pays off in the end, just ask Norm. |

thanks Norm, I am really happy with the car so far (51 miles later), the installer is finishing up the clearbra right now, I'll take some pics when I have it all cleaned up again.

How much did the clear bra run you. I'm also looking for a location here in the Los Angeles area.

$500 for 3M, installed at my house/in my garage. there is a company in CA called "premier" that is regarded as the best in the business, you should look them up (I hear they are not cheap though)

i personally don't mind that the dealership preps it, but i can understand where he's coming from. I have a couple buddies who are equally if not more picky about the maintenance of their cars, from techniques to products used. I saw a crazy argument ensue after friend 'x' tried to wipe bird crap off of friend 'y's car with a napkin.

No offense, my car looked like SH!T when I received it. It had no thick wax applied, unless youre referencing the dealer applying wax.. but that disregards having protection from shipment etc.. I asked for everything to be left the way it was when delivered and they couldn't help themselves to mess with it. That said, I do detailing so it's not too bad.. I can't imagine other people having to go somewhere to get it fixed because thats an additional couple hundred for the amount of paint correction it would have needed from a 3rd party. Perhaps BMW will offer to do it for free but after you see the quality that came out of there you won't want them to continue to do things to it.

Beautiful finish on the car. I can see why you want to take care of it yourself
