We took delivery last July and still haven't received the book. I contacted BMW about this and was told the order was resubmitted and that I should receive it in about 6 weeks. It's now been about 8 weeks and nothing yet, so time for a followup.

They make them specific to every car. They are individually numbers with your VIN and options. I assume they make 'em in batches too. Mine came close to 3 months after I got my car, and I'm in Mass.

Update
As mentioned above we took delivery in July '08 and never received the book. Got in touch with BMW customer service. Latest update is that the book was supposedly completed and mailed in December but to the wrong address, two houses up the street but those people deny seeing it. So now the address has been corrected but the 4 to 6 week clock resets. Frustrating.
