M3 Replica Group Buy
Okay, guys, I contacted the distributor of the M3 replica wheel as mounted and tested by M3R1 (thanks M3R1!). You can see the original thread here: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=241592
Here was their response: Hello, Thanks for the pics.. When ordering 10 sets of wheels,I could offer you 15% discount. These are german wheels produced by TAM in germany. Pick-up of the wheels should be arranged by youself as we do not ship ourselves to US. Best regards, CHRISTOPHE MERLEVEDE MLV BANDEN BVBA ENGELSTRAAT 10 8970 POPERINGE BELGIE-BELGIQUE TEL: 0032 57337161 FAX: 0032 57332967 BTW: BE0882320017 www.mlv.be I sent a second email to confirm pricing on a set of 4 wheels 18x8f and 18x9r only. I will post it once I get a response and then we can start a list for the group buy. 15% off of a set with Goodyear F1 Assymetrics would be $1,532 + shipping. If anyone knows of a cheap way to get these wheels over here please chime in. I know for me and probably many others shipping may be the deal-breaker. |

Wow that is very tempting. Too bad M3R1 lives in the tristate area. (I would hate to be wearing the same wheels as someone else at a meet) But then again I am very shallow.
Although $743 is a very tempting price.

According to M3R1 "they are 18 x 8 et40 front & 18 x 9 et 43 rear. They weigh about 22 & 24 lbs respectively."
To me this is perfect as it will push the wheels out 15mm toward the edge of the fender AND you will gain an additional 3mm of clearance for both wheels! |

These are the same guys that have the M6 reps in 8/9x18. They never responded to my email.

Ok I guess I need to ask this. Do we know anything about this company? Do they make good wheels? I don't want to get what I pay for if you know what I mean. I'm just afraid of the quality for $750.

well, they are about 4 hours from me and I almost drove there last weekend. They have lots of customers pics on their web site. So, it seems they have good stock turn.
M3R1 is the best to speak about the quality of the rims.. since he has a set. I love them but would prefer they match the 1er fitment exact and from what I read they don't. I would love them on a white vert

Thanks for saying that. Takes this price out of my mind. Could we get M6 reps into this GB. Like 9 M3 reps and 1 M6 rep?

I know people who have bought $800 wheels for their sports cars and had them crack and break within a few months...that what i'm worried about. I might just pay a bit more and get 313s or 269s...I just can't decide, their both so nice!
