Definitely would have been far more beneficial for them just to give you what you wanted in the first place, but this truly is for the greater good of everyone here. Sorry you had to deal with it!

I had no such issues with Vivid. I have experienced occasional bottoming over very sharp bumps, but I also bottomed the stock suspension once in a while over similar bumps. I didn't check my spring rates, but I assume they are the 9/12 as advertised. For the street, I'm happy with the balance. For the track, I certainly wouldn't want to go stiffer in the front. That would only lead to more understeer.

wow! it is good to hear this!
and i see that this isnt one isolated incident, there have been a lot of problems with them. it seems to me that they should be banned from being a vendor here if they are providing such a disservice to the community!

they are marked at the bottom of each spring. Trust me, your running 8k....
Jack up one side, take the wheel off, lower the spring pearch....white lettering. Hopefully yours didnt wear off. I disagree with you on stiffer front springs. If it was up to me Id run 10k-11k front with softer damper settings. The suspension travel in this set up is less than stock. So run 10k-11k, maybe like setting 8 in the front Keep the 12k in the rear and bump the shocks to liek 10-11, car will rotate....in theory. lol |

Woah... I'm sorry to hear about that, Vivid was trying to get those Cross coilovers off on me a few months back for that "great price". Glad I didn't pull the trigger!!!

Interesting read... I wonder if the incorrect spring rates vs. advertised are because of cross messing up the order or if its on vivid's end.

cross advertised them as 8k on their site, vivid had 9k and blamed it on cross.....after the way they run their show and the HORROR stories from subi/evo forums, personally i believe cross.

Vivid is down the street from me.
Never had a single good experience with them, or heard of one. I have seen them horribly jack up simply dynoing a car. An example of their wealth of knowledge: Did a full S/C install on a friends car. He insisted on running a SAFC Neo tuner (prolly the most common piggyback in existance) instead of the standard tuner for the car (which I could have simply uploaded a map to). So I install it all including the SAFC and he takes it to Vivid for tuning. Now being an SAFC they have to have tuned hundreds of cars with the same tuner. But I get a call saying they can't make it work and it is because i screwed up the install and they can't figure out why the a/f won't respond to tuning. Bull ish. I go down and ask what they have changed. The claim is nothing. Come to find that the MAF signal wires have been switched by the dyno operator. (these are the only two wires that do anything with the ecu and are responsible for the tuning. Operator lies about it and says he didn't change anything. One of the higher ups comes out (don't remember his name) looks at it and says it is right and no they didn't change it. I show him a puddle of solder on the floor...from them doing a shit job or resoldering the wires. He claims it is on there the right way now and something i did is wrong...this is coming from the "boss." So I switch the wires and bam...it works....well wtf do you know. If they can screw this up that bad I can only imagine what dealing with them from across the country is like. Almost forgot...same day...they had the pepsi RX-8 in that toured at HIN in the shop...which they built. Claimed it had 900 whp. Right....has anyone ever even heard of a 13B Renesis making over 500 hp?
