Some of us listen to the news/music/podcasts/traffic/audiobooks and get lost in foreign areas. Of course, people like you, true drivers never do any of that stuff. You don't use AC in 120 degree summers either?

The a/c delete and nav/ stereo delete would be optional. Common now! Don't you ever map out where you are going? you know google earth, map quest or get a tom tom. no no wait a tom tom is too much so get an Iphone!!! look i am not trying to be a snobby stuck up ass. Just asking for more options that if they came from the factory would be nice. I like the color scale we have an option too, bringing back the old school stuff is awesome. NEED more of that.

I see I have to actually break it down for some of you,
We aren't saying it only saves weight, but a real drivers car doesn't have a 10 speaker system with two amps, subwoofers under the seat, blah blah blah. All it would really need is a two speaker in the door type system. Believe it or not cars sometimes do come without a stereo or sunroof at request. Add up all the creature comforts of a GT and the weight is significant. But like I said, you all probrably don't get that. And that's fine with me. S2k CR anyone??

A "real" driver's car isn't something you'd want to drive on a daily basis. The M1 will be. Thus no silly delete options like A/C, radio, etc. The "real" drivers will know how to remove them anyway. But like it or not, you're going to pay for them.

I can't wait for the M1 to be revealed. It's even more exciting than the new M5. If not, anyone thinks Porsche will release a Cayman RS, such as 911 GT3 RS?

Sorry but neither BMW North America or BMW AG would sacrifce luxury features such as power windows , climate a/c unit nor professional hifi to sell this car or any car in the US. If you are thinking that BMW would offer such a car in North America it is not possible.

The majority of customers would forgoe such a concept which is why BMW North America rejected the M3 GTS and 1er GTS.

ok so no m3gts and no 1 gts, who the fcuk is in bmw NA that thinks up these ideas? why not leaglize it(nationalize/federalize it whatever) and offer it not make it just for the us. if it is being made in a plant that makes it for the U.S. and some one wants it how hard is that to switch it over the automated track and add the NA goodies to make it legal. I mean don't get me wrong but who voted for the X5M and X6M those are just wastes of space. do they really have that kind of towing capacity? really a multi-billion dollar company would shit out the X5M and X6M but not a gts model that would probably move more units per capa then the others. idk maybe i am a dumb consumer?

Sad to hear, but I do understand and have seen it before. That's why we have no Civic Type R's and tons of other great drivers cars. It's a shame. I guess I need to move to Germany lol.

Hopefully BMW NA and AG both know that the M1 will be a huge crossroads in the credibility of the M moniker. I'm sure you are all aware of the dissent a lot have shown for the X5M/X6M. Those can be looked past. But careful how you develop the M1. If it does not perform as well as the M3 (as there is no reason it shouldn't) and comes across as a disguised 135i with an M badge, fenders and carbon, I promise you the loss of respect will be significant. Obviously, I won't buy until it is proven. Otherwise I will stay in my current M killer.

Sorry, but this is true. I do agree with you and I would buy an I6 Diesel BMW for daily drive with all comfort features and a stripped down Petrol BMW for tracking. But look at the post on M3Post M3 GTS vs. 911 GT3 RS (http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=321764). 80% would take the Porsche 911 over the M3, some arguments where, the 911 GT3 RS has A/C and Navi but the M3 GTS doesen't. The same goes for Cayman vs. M1.
It seams BMW M cars have no more place in the market. Those that want a sporty daily drive car with comfort and power take a Audi RS, and those that want a real uncompromised sportcar take a Porsche. And as both are needed so the two cars in the garage are Audi RS and Porsche. No BMW M, it is between both, neither this nor that.
