Different market, you can't do a straight conversion.

Cars are always cheaper in the US. Feel bad for the Austrailians. They pay upwards of 80K US for our 135is...and we complain about 40K

"BMW’s standard turbocharged 3.0-litre six already producing an M3-equalling 295lb ft, the newly developed M version of this engine should be good for at least 310lb ft." oooooooh. I thought we were getting lightweight a turbo 4 anyway. |

The M1 would likely come with Sat Nav as standard like the M3 which is a £2000 option in itself and isn't standard on the 135i. Thus the "real" difference may only be £6000! Bargain! |

I was looking at vert before I settled for the coupe. The vert I spec'd out was $105k!! The price made the choice a lot easier for me. Still love the verts though.

The thing that at a bit confusing is the projected output figures, 350hp is in my opinion is about right for the weight and the competition but the suggested 310ft/lbs of torque seems rather low considering the 2.5TFSI from Audi produces 332ft/lbs. If and when this engine gets relocated into an A3, calling itself an RS3 then surely the 1M would require more grunt to maintain a competitive edge. The only logical reason is an engine that revs north of 7000rpm thus giving it the feel of a natural aspirated engine but again I don't expect the actual figure to be this low. Other things I question is a 6sp DCT, why do that when they already have this very engine working well with their 7sp? Such suggestions aren't logical in my mind. |

A 335i coupe starts around $42k but you're up at $58k to make it an M3 coupe, just as a fun comparison. That's a $16k premium for the M car. Dollars be damned; you know you want one. (I do!) |

Maybe it is not going to a FI engine but NA. The M5 F10 was also tested with the NA 5.5l V10, but they chose the FI 4.4l V8.

I am convinced that the 1M/M1 will use a reworked N55 with twin turbo configuration and stop/start technology to maintain or possibly improve on the 135i's emissions of 198g/km, I am also convinced that it will rev north of 7K, possibly as high as 7700rpm but until we see the specs we not know if that opinion is right or not. |

But the only reason that the rags got 4.7 was because of a 1 ft rollout. |
