The m2 or m2002 makes sense...It appears that this was talked about way back in 2004

It often isnt... but the 2000 and 2002 were 2 liter. IMO calling it a 2002 would be like calling it an X5. The M3 was never named for the displacement, sans the e36 and e46 which was just coincidence at that point.
I guess you're not responding to my PM.

I have no clue how 2 has any reference to this car other than it being a two-seater or having two exhaust tips.
Scott: Would you please kindly walk up stairs on your lunch break and punch someone in the ear. Thank you.

[quote=oztiks;7175506 And finally , for the badge whore theorists....If man evolved from apes, why the hell are there still apes on this planet??? [/quote]
You're digressed. Well, evolution scientists say that modern man is a descendant of an earlier "ape like" animal. Technically, humans ARE apes. Evolution doesn't just discard one model for another, as long as a certain model is thriving. The "ape", which modern humans evolved from, is the ape that evolved into the homo-sapien sapien, modern human. We are the evolved modern version of that ancestral ape. The other apes amongst us fill their niche and thrive, thus there was no need to get rid of them. That's why they're still here with us. Just because there is a new generation of BMW enthusiasts, that has no bearing on why a BMW model already called the "M1" should be ignored or forgotten. |

M cars should be bought by enthusiasts, and most will be. So, anyone out there that may be confused as to what this car is, will be someone who doesn't matter anyway. As far as being a 1 with M stuff sprinkled on it, well, look at how many on here claim that having the "M sport" pkg. is a MUST. In fact, that package truly is some cosmetic M stuff sprinkled onto a 1 series. Maybe it will be those people that will confuse their "M sport pkg" 1, with an actual M-1 series? |
