Thank you BMW for awesome brakes!
Today, it almost happened again. This morning I had to get up early for a doctors appointment, I was pretty tired since I worked till about 1am and couldn't sleep till 3am.
I took the Autobahn instead of the fun curvy road, I didn't want to test my skills this morning. So I am on the offramp to work(everybody that has been on a german Autobahn knows that the offramps are 180degree turns). I usually take the turn at about 60mph but since I was feelin sluggish I was doin around 40mph. Halfway into the turn I see an Autobahn grass cutting vehicle(bright orange can't miss them), drivin onto the highway. So i was distracted for a split second and in that moment it happened. All I seen was something big white coming my way in my lane. It was a big ass Semi truck, that passed the construction vehicle instead of just waiting a few seconds until the got on the Autobahn. I was able to react pretty fast and slammed on my brakes, got to a stop about 5yards infront of the Semi. My heart was pounding and I wanted to scream at this douche, while he didnt even care and just kept on truckin. This wasnt the first time my brakes saved my ass. So BMW thank you for awesome brakes. |

The breaks on the 128i are great too, was in traffic today and some idiot decided to pull in to the merge lane, effectively cutting me off and even in the pouring rain was able to avoid an accident. When I passed the minivan I noticed the lady was texting and driving...

These brakes saved my ass twice. Once in a round about I had the right of way and the jackass was on the phone and didn't yield. Second I had a green light for like 4-5 seconds and making a right hand turn, even though it was early in the morning it was a good thing I was paying attention cause this dumb female dog was texting and blew through the red light at like 45mph. Anyways I agree I love these brakes. They might not be the best for tracking, but they get the job done on the street. |

My brakes squealed like crazy, I complained and got new pads. Now the squealing is gone. I think the squealing is just the general nature of the pads as they get more / more miles... perhaps your pads are glazed?

That's normal after a couple miles on them. They last pretty long and have pitbull bite but they are noisy, and filthy. Don't worry about them. As long as your sensors are working, the CBS alert will protect you. You should get them changed as soon as the CBS tells you there are 3500 miles or less on them though coz those miles drop superfast.
