I have a hard time believing it wont be $48K+US. I look back to how plain my Z3M was and it's base price was $41K 11 years ago. These cars were manual everything (AC, transmission...no frills). I would not expect a low to mid $40s for this car, you are only fooling yourself.

roger that. $52K it should have some options. As M3adjuster states, the M3 sedan base is like $55K(USD). Ive read some compelling arguments on other threads over the last few months on price. $44-$48K seems likely a target base, IMO.

M3 sedan starts at $55,400. Coupe starts at $58,400. Also need to add a $1,300 gas guzzler tax to both. Seems like there would be some room around $50K for 1M, but think it will be less. BMW M's Albert Biermann already said the price would be between the 135i and M3 coupe, but closer to the 135i. Midpoint between 135i and M3 cupe is $47,375, so price is likely below that.
That's the only remotely official source or pricing information I've seen (car magazines are just speculating), so not sure why so many people are speculating that the base price will be in the $50s |

If we're going to guess pricing: I'd say 47000 USD and 56000 CAD (as unfair as that is).
Oh I'd love to see it start at 50 CAD, but no way it will happen. For comparison, a TTS starts at 58 CAD and the midpoint between a Canadian M3 and 135i is ~57. |

I am betting it will be even a few thousand higher for CAD pricing
Ditto... but you can't even really get into a 135i with a few options for less than 50K... the 1M will easily command a good 10-15K more. |

There were some rumors early...but I don't think so for the E82 platform...
I think they are going to build a Cabrio is Coupe sales are strong for this 1M though...

If you are located around BMW's HQ in New Jersey you may see the 1M as BMW have begun to freight their NAIAS debutees to the US in which the building work of the stand has commenced in Detroit.
It will not be driven around though. |
