Bmw Performance Exhaust N55?
Hi there,
just wondered if anyone knows if BMW is going to make a performance exhaust for the 2011 135... |

I have it on my 2011 N55 135i Great sound - claimed 5 hp power bump - cant say on the power one way or another as I got it with only 400 miles on the car during the break in period. Love the way it sounds though

the bmw performance is little louder then the N55 stock exhaust not sure if its worth it.
its better to spend on full exhaust for more power gains and weight savings Berk,cp-e ,madded etc..

I have to disagree with this statement. It is not "a little louder" than stock, it is actually substantially louder, and the sound is quite intoxicating/amazing - and yes, it is also louder than a stock exhaust with a "golf-tee mod". The only valid part to this statement is the power/weight part. If you want more than 5hp, then sure, go with a full exhaust instead. But so far, I have yet to find an exhaust that sounds better (to my ears) than BMW's performance exhaust.

Well thanks. I'm not going to go with any other manufacturer to avoid voiding the warranty. But I'm very curious about this BMW exhaust, a friend of mine had it one his 125 in Switzerland and it sounded mean, and with a really high pitch top note.
1seriestud, you're in Jacksonville? Is there any chance I could hear yours? Are you going to cars and coffee? Did you get it from Tom Bush? Thanks |

EDIT: And I forgot to mention, I buy all my stuff at Tom Bush BMW of Orange Park. They have price matched Tischer's prices for me every single time and so far everything I've gotten has been from them. I guess if you "want it now", you can order from the local dealer, otherwise you can get it online. Last edited by 1SerieStud; 01-23-2011 at 09:55 AM.. |

+1 to you. About the exhaust: I absolutely love the sound of mine. Anything louder would be too much, imo. It's just right.

I have a 2011 135i with the N55 and I can assure you it has no secondary cats in the mid pipe. I was just under the car last week doing a oil change. It only has a resonator in the midpipe.

To the n54 guy: from what I've seen/heard, the n54 has the resonator that the n55 has right before the muffler, PLUS resonated midpipes. What you have on the midpipes are not cats but another set of resonators. Also, the cats are found on the downpipes, which we n55 guys only have one. |

However, for the sake of this thread, it is important to make sure that everyone is informed about the N55 only having 1 single cat (on the downpipe), one single resonator (right before the muffler and after the midpipes), and absolutely nothing (no resonators or cats) on the midpipes themselves. |

Sounds just like stock in your video... I really need to hear one in person to see if it's louder...
