I'll probably change the stock midpipe for a MadDad to increase the volume a little. I have an iCarbon rear spoiler sitting in my closet that'll look great on a VO trunk.

Do we know if it is interchangeable and 1-to-1? Are the 1 ///M exhaust changes purely from the axle back?

In the spirit of cutting costs, I'm going to bet that everything is the same up to the new axle back. It looks like all of the sound tuning is done in that rear canister. And this is a good thing since it's the same downpipes on all RWD 1 & 3 series N54s.

With the 1 exception of the cold start and revving at the Detroit IAS (which I am stil nto sure if it was fabricated) we have yet to hear something to our ear's delight!

My guess is also, that there was some tweak or they just emptied that muffler for the show, I don't know. In fact, I don't care about any fake at all, as long as they get it done right in the end. But boy will I be angry if the 1M will just sound like another 335i... |

Way too decent. You can't come up with a bodykit like this and then sound like a 335i. The 335i doesn't sound bad, but it just doesn't fit.

New to BMW so here's a dumb question....
Do Dinan mods invalidate the factory warranty? I don't want to do something to my 1M for a little extra kick if it means I'm on my own if something goes south.

I do not see myself modifying the car. I love my 135 the way it is, except that it has no LSD. The addition of the LSD, more power and an improved suspension will be enough for me... not to mention the wider stance!

That's why Dinan offers their own warranty that is claimed to cover whatever is invalidated by their products.

Well, you can forget all that. The new car is fitted with a turbocharged straight six. Turbocharging? In an M car? That’s like putting gravy on an ice cream. - Jeremy Clarkson, discussing the S65 and then S55 M3 engines. |

I wish I could convince myself to trade my 09 135i in on a 1M, but the wife would kill me (or divorce me).
If I did get a 1M I'd say just the performance kidneys and cf lip spoiler. I'd leave the suspension alone since BMW has put in a fair bit of money designing it I don't think I can do better. |
