New 135i: iPhone question
We just picked up our new 135i with the iPod and the Smartphone integration options. It seems the iPhone 4 smartphone cradle is not available until March, so I'm trying to figure out the iPod/USB thing.
I don't have any cables so I have some questions: 1.) Is the iPod cable supposed to come with the car? 2.) If not, what cable do I need for an iPhone? Is this the right cable? Thanks in advance, Zach |

Yes it does!
In fact I cannot even find my charger for my iPhone that I keep inside. I never use it anymore. |

My dealership gave me a Y Cable. It was already connected to the car when I picked it up.

Mine came with the y cable supplied. Where did you hear March for the iPhone 4 snap in adapter? I have the PN but it keeps showing unavailable.

Sort of separate question - does anyone know of a Y cable that will fit an iPhone 4 with a bumper? I've seen several people talk about taking an X-acto knife to them to make the connector fix, but I'd prefer not to do that. Zach |

Ok, now I feel stupid. I took the normal iPod cable and plugged it in. I get full control, audio, and it charges my iPhone 4.
Why would anyone need those Y cables—much less the W cable with the charger? Plus my iPod cable fits with the bumper! Thanks for the tip! Zach |

My 135came with the y-cable and the salesman grab me another one so I can use it in my M3. The apple iPod USB cable did not work by itself on my 08 and I never really try it on the '11 135 since I use the y-cable on both cars now. I just wish BMW interface can display more languages like Mercedes' system.

Yeah on the 11 models you don't need the y cable...just the ipod cable works fine.

Zcasper,
Do you have the standard (non-nav) head unit? If so, how do you like the functionality? If you use playlists, are they easy to navigate? Thanks |

I have the non nav head unit....it's actually pretty nice for navigating...just wish there was a search feature. But getting to a playlist is very easy.
