Make sure the brackets go on the right way the first time. And careful with the retainment tabs if you didn't heed tip# 1.

When you get under the car and take off the stock one, grab the new bracket and place it up there to see. One side has two holes and the other only has one. You'll see that it will only fit one way. THEN put the brackets and bushings on the new bar.

There is another, older M3 sway bar thread, with up close pics highlighting how the bushings and brackets should fit if you're unsure. I forget the exact title of the thread - someone should've stickied it IMO.

Just got mine installed a few days ago - and yes I'm giggling as I go round corners and 90s - Extremely good value for money mod.
Go ahead and email Dan@UnitedBMW - I believe he's got many in stock if you want to do this mod. Do not PM or use this 1 series board to contact Dan for 3 series parts. There's a different sponsor and board for those parts.

The install instructions should be the same as the DIY I made with the UUC (bleh) bar. I bought the E92 bar from Dan @ United. I'm unconvinced that the pinch on the E93 bar makes it any more rigid than the pinch-less E92 M3 bar.
I hope to try to install it next weekend.. on a two-stop work trip this week, so my plans to install today got thwarted. I had to remove that UUC squeaking and banging POS shortly after installing the 5th one that Rob @ UUC sent me. Do not buy that one. I recommend the M3 bars and the Hotchkis. For those contemplating installing these from a pit, and not jacking the car up. It should work, if you can get the bar out. tensioning should be equal, with equal weight on both wheels. It is impossible to install the swaybar by jacking up one side at a time. Actually, it's dangerous to even try. |

I have your DIY bookmarked for when I do mine, but it would probably help a bit more if some pics could be taken of the bushing/bracket assembly for those of us that have never done it, seeing as it is something that could easily break. When I do mine (hopefully soon), I'll add some pics of the extra bracing that needs to be removed on the convertibles. |

Yeah sorry about not snagging the bracing. I didn't want to pull my phon out with greasy hands.
Just FYI the brace that goes back on the drivers side goes under a second underbody panel. You do not need to remove that. Just pull the four bolts and slide it out. |

I got a noob question:
What type of lube did you guys use on the bushings? Does it even matter? I looked at the UUC Front Sway DIY and that thing was oozing with lube. |

You do not need to do it, but it doesn't hurt either. I always use grease.
Anyway just to throw some videos here. Auto-X with stock spring and shocks with E93 bar, notice how little roll there is. It was good enough to win the class |

E93 Front Sway Bar or the OEM Retrofit LED first? I can only buy one for now.
