1M Track Wheel and Tire setup - more rim width and more rubber!
HP Autowerks, Inc. has put together a nice 18" track wheel and tire package that adds another 0.5" of rim width to both the front and rear of the 1M, making it 9.5" wide front and 10.5" wide rear and mount 265 front and 285 rears respectively.
Here is a few quick iphone photos... Last photo is with AST 4200 on Swift springs. Last edited by HP Autosport; 09-28-2011 at 10:52 PM.. |

Hankook RS3's shaved to 5/32 depth. Quote:
This set up is just for fun! For competition I would go with 10" front and 11" rear with 275 front and 295 to 305 rears. Always shaved as the tires will be heat cycled out before they are worn out. Plus there is less tread squirm and heat build up when shaved. RS3 is one of the fastest tires in Redline Time Attack street tire class. AD08's, Starspec's and RE11's are a few tenths off of the pace. Last edited by HP Autosport; 05-25-2011 at 08:42 PM.. |

That should make for a hell of a track setup Harold. Is the car competing in an autocross or time trial, that made you pick shaved RS-3's? I look forward to seeing this project progress |

Look good.
I'm already running ARC-8 wheels on my M Coupe and am planning to move them over to my 1M when it arrives in 6-8 weeks. Initially, I'll be running 255/35-18 front and 275/35-18 rear, but will try to wider rubber down the road. Neil |
